JILL CHANDLER

I live in North County San Diego with my husband—a biotech entrepreneur who knows better than to question my book-buying habits—and our three cats, who are fully aware they run the household.

For the past twelve years, I’ve worked at one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Before that, it was two biotech startups powered by brilliance, caffeine, and a stubborn refusal to accept “impossible.” Along the way, I’ve traveled the globe for work, sat in more labs and boardrooms than I can count, and witnessed high-stakes innovation unfold in real time. So yes, I know a thing or two about genius women who deserve better, emotionally unavailable men who think they’re protecting everyone, and office dynamics that would make a reality show blush.

Canceled is my first novel, but I’ve been writing it in spirit for years—on planes, in hotel rooms, and late at night between deadlines. Romance books were always my reset button: stories that made me believe in second chances and satisfying endings. Eventually, though, I craved more. More heat, more sharp dialogue, more of those moments that punch you in the chest or make you laugh so hard you forget the world for a minute.

That’s what this book became: raw emotion wrapped in wit and desire. It’s bold, occasionally unfiltered, and a little too honest in places. Some scenes are exaggerated versions of my own life—and no, I won’t tell you which ones. But beneath the heat and humor, this story is a deeply personal love letter: to starting over when everything falls apart, to women in STEM who refuse to dim their brilliance, to ambition that makes people nervous, and to friendships that show up with wine and zero judgment when things get hard.

If this book makes you stay up too late, laugh at the worst possible moment, or feel a little more seen—then I’ve done what I set out to do.

Thanks for reading. I hope you fall for these characters as hard as I did writing them.
